The other best thing about Chennai is the welcoming and caring people well all over the world u find people so caring and affectionate to even strangers are found only in places like Chennai I had one such instance in my life 

Well it was one fine morning and I had woken up at 4am due to a power failure (Damn those are irritating) and I was lying down and thinking of going out somewhere well it was just 4 am and there was nowhere to go and well I was just roaming inside my house listening to songs on my I pod. Then the time was 6am and I was really bored haven listened to all my favorite tracks at least twice and was bored out of my mind well it was only 6 am and there was solid 4 hours in between till my friends woke up … The time was 6:30 am and I was getting cranky so then I decided that I should go and get some exercise in my gym.

When I reached there the gym was closed for maintenance and will be functioning from tomorrow, cursing my bad luck I was simply driving around when I saw a local government gym in a government ground. My mind was made up that I was going to exercise one way or another so I went to the gym

 

There was no person in charge present anywhere so I asked a guy who was busy doing his bicep-rod where I will be able to find the person in charge and getting the reply that he would arrive only sometime around ten I asked how much did the gym cost and weather the subscription was monthly or annual, he replied with a smile that it was free and the government took all the expenses of the gym and it was totally free. Then I did some warm-up exercises and then went to work my biceps.

The people in the gym were very friendly and were more than happy to help me with my exercises and I was making friends in no time had a fun workout and immensely deep laughter and had good fun after a long time with total strangers.

When I was back home and in the shower I realized that they were total strangers who invited me into their gang without even knowing my last name and people like this are hard to find in any other part of the world. Lucky to have met people like this and making a mental promise that I would go and visit regularly i carried on with my daily routine

The War Memorial

The Victoria war memorial situated in the beach road is dedicated especially for the soldiers who have bravely lost their lives on the battlefields due to World War I and World War II


This place is situated near the beach and contains the names and ranks off all the soldiers of the Madras Presidency who had lost their lives . And the whole structure is of a Cylindrical kind of shape surrounded by plants, trees, and grass beds . The whole place is made in the circular form to facilitate the movement of traffic. The government takes good measures to take care of the security and the cleanliness of the place , there are two armed army soldiers who guard the place.

Well it was shocking that this place is not known by all ... Over the years many have forgotten such a a place existed. The information about this place was not even in Wikipedia which provides information of all the places and all the junk form definitions of nuclear physics and the recent fitness routine
of Bipasha ....

Well what to say its upto the historians to find more details about the place and put the information online and as far as i am concerned i would prefer if there is a subject in standards of 7th or 8th which told the students in an around the local city and encourage them to have a good knowledge about the places. And as far as Victoria War Memorial is concerned people should pay some tribute to the soldiers who had a brave death by at least visiting the place.

The Marina Beach Chennai

The Marina Beach chennai is the second longest beach in the world. It is mainly known for its shops and stalls and a very popular and romantic lovers joint. But over the years the interest the government is showing on the beach and various NGO's taking keen interest on the preservation of the beach and various wildlife present in these sands and the direct and indirest job oppertunities it creates the government has renovated the beach in the recent past with a whooping 259.2 million rupees

The above clearly demonstrates the money well spent by the government and due to these drastic changes many residents form near and far have taken the beach for their daily activities like having a get-together with their friends, go for a drive and spend some quality time with their loved ones and due to the increase in the tourist attraction and many local residents the chennai police have increased their security measures to make the visit a memorable and enjoyable one

 

 With regular patrols and cops stationed in various spots the marina beach is safer than it used to be.... As a result many people have chosen the marina beach fot their morning jog,for a long walk and the recent advancements are the coaching for martial arts and various yoga and meditation which are provided in the morning hours.

 

Marina beach is a very good joint to go for a morning jog or a less expensive date so gear up and go for a jog or grab the special and watch the sunset to gether...
